a guide for shops
write a workwear size guide that works.
Workwear gets bought for a whole team, worn over layers, and sized differently by every brand. A wrong size often means a whole box coming back. A good size guide heads that off.
the measurements
what to ask for
chest
Around the fullest part of the chest, under the arms, over a T-shirt.
waist
Where trousers actually sit, which isn’t always the natural waist.
inside leg
From the crotch to the floor, without shoes, for trousers and overalls.
getting it right
tips for your guide
- Say whether a jacket is cut to go over a hoodie or a fleece
- Give regular, short and long leg lengths if you stock them
- Note anything that runs small, like slim-fit or women’s-fit lines
- For team orders, suggest everyone measures rather than going by their usual size
between sizes
say which way to go
With workwear, most people would rather have room to move, so sizing up is usually the right call for jackets and coveralls. Say so for each line, and flag the ones where it isn’t.
the shortcut
let the page do the maths
Put your chart into Size Finder once. Customers type in their measurements and get a size back, with your between-sizes advice built in. On WooCommerce, one click picks that size on the workwear product page.
